Exosome depleted FBS

Defined. Better. Safe.

Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) is still the most frequently used supplement for supporting the growth of cells and their proliferation in cell culture. Conventional FBS contains many unwanted animal components including tremendous amounts of endogenous exosomes.  Although these exosomes are not harmful to cell culture, they can critically interfere with the study of exosomes derived from cultured cells.

YOUR BENEFITS
  • Extreme low background of intrinsic exosomes
  • Gentle depletion of exosomal artefacts
  • Suitable for most cell types
  • Cost-effective
  • Excellent cell growth
APPLICATIONS
  • Isolation of cellular exosomes
  • Studies of exosome effects on cells
  • Backround reduction of unwanted exosomes

To make sure that results are not based on background signals, the origin of exosomes has to be reduced to cultured cells only. Our innovative production process eliminates ≥90% of endogenous exosomes without influencing the usual cell growth. To give our customers the consistency they require, Capricorn Scientific undertakes the testing of each lot of serum to verify the depletion of exosomes

and optimal culture performance, in addition to the usual quality control tests such as sterility and endotoxin value.

The product is perfect for research on exosomes and does not need any further treatment such as ultracentrifugation.
